The victory clinched the AFC East title. Several outstanding performances were needed in this one as the Dolphins trailed 17-7 in the second quarter. Earl Morrall passed for one touchdown and ran 31 yards for another. Dick Anderson had an interception and recovered a fumble that led to a pair of touchdowns and Mercury Morris, who scored two touchdowns, scored the game-winner on a 14-yard run with 11:11 remaining. Morris finished with 107 yards on 23 carries. "I think Miami is the best team in the league," Jets coach Weeb Ewbank said. "I think they will go undefeated. Who can beat them?"
