Career: Evans was originally drafted by the Houston Oilers in the 14th round of the 1965 draft and spent one season there before being one of 31 players Miami received in the 1966 AFC expansion draft. He and wide receiver Howard Twilley were the only two remaining "original" Dolphins to be a part of the perfect season. Evans started in 136 games during his career, ranking seventh all-time, and his 91 consecutive starts ranks fifth all-time in team history. Honors include being named the Dolphins outstanding offensive lineman in 1967 and 1968, an All-AFC selection by the Associated Press in 1973, and the Sporting News in 1974, as well as being selected to the Pro Bowl in 1972 and 1974.
