Career: During his eight-year career, Stanfill played in 110 games, totaling 550 tackles, eight fumble recoveries and two touchdowns. Both touchdowns were scored during his rookie season, on interception returns of 15 yards at Boston (11/9/69) and 17 yards against Houston (11/23/69). Stanfill, the Dolphins' all-time leader in sacks with 69.5, also holds the team's single season sack record with 18.5 sacks in 1973 and is tied with Vern Den Herder for most sacks in a game with five, which came vs. New York Jets (10/7/73) and against Buffalo (11/17/74). Stanfill's eight sacks in his rookie season of 1969 set a team record that was matched by A.J. Duhe in 1977 and Lorenzo Bromell in 1998. Stanfill earned All-NFL honors in 1972 and 1973, and was selected to the Pro Bowl four times.
